What Study League remembers.
Updated 6 October 2026. This notice describes the data used by this website.
Your anonymous player
When you open the game, we create a random player identifier and save an essential session cookie in your browser. The server stores a hash of the cookie token and uses it to recognise you. We do not require an email address, password or phone number, and we do not fingerprint your phone. Your player can be shared by people using the same browser.
Study data
We save your room memberships, room display names, questions, answer options, correct answers, explanations, submitted answers and round timestamps in Cloudflare D1. Members of a room can see its questions, display names and scores. Correct answers are shown to their author and to a player after that player submits. Anyone with the invite code can join while a round is collecting questions, so share codes only with your intended group.
Recovery and retention
You can generate an optional recovery code. Only its hash is stored; the code can restore your player once. Browser sessions expire after up to 365 days, and browser settings can remove them earlier. Saved room data is retained until the operator removes it. Closing the browser or clearing cookies does not delete that data. Without a working cookie or recovery code, we cannot automatically reconnect you to a previous player.
Hosting and operational logs
Cloudflare hosts the website, stores its database and processes requests. Request metadata may be processed in hosting logs and security systems. Connecting IP addresses may be used transiently for abuse rate limiting; they are not stored as phone identifiers in our study database. We do not install user analytics on this website.
Optional advertising
If advertising is enabled, public study-guide pages offer a choice before loading Google advertising. The current pilot is limited to visitors Cloudflare identifies as being in South Africa. No ads load for other or unknown locations. Google may process IP addresses, cookies and device information when you allow advertising. We request non-personalised ads; that does not mean no data is processed. Your private questions, room names, submitted answers and recovery codes are not included in ad requests.
Your advertising preference is saved on this browser. You can change it using Advertising preferences on a guide page where advertising is available. Declining advertising does not stop you from reading guides or playing. See how Google uses information from partner sites.
